One to One Support Assistant
(Temporary Contract whilst child remains in school)
G3 6-9 £20,547.71 - £21,536.31 actual salary - 32.5 hours per week to be worked across 5 days, 39 weeks per year

Our school is seeking to recruit an excellent One to One Support Assistant. The post is to support a specific child with medical/special education needs at our school. The post holder will be required to work on a one-to-one basis with the specific child, supporting their medical, social and educational development. The post is temporary until assistance is no longer required or because of the specific child leaving the school, whichever is the earliest.
Excellent communication skills are expected as you will need to liaise with other team members, parents and the relevant professionals involved with the child. In addition, a passion for pupil progress is essential for this post as well as good literacy and maths skills. Knowledge of Development Matters, National Curriculum and the SEND code of practice are also relevant to this position. It is essential to have a proven experience of working within an educational environment and to have achieved or surpassed relevant NVQ Level 2 status.
Calmness, a good sense of humour and the ability to build relationships are other essential qualities. An ability to use your own initiative is vital as you will be expected to use the child's developmental targets set by a variety of professionals during the sessions to support their learning and development.
